Allergies with a Mean Streak.
My allergies have come in with a mean streak a few days before I left home. Which sucks, of course. It was nowhere as bad as when it first reared up and attacked me in grade 11 though, lol. That’s why I’ve been avoiding, y’know, *takes a deep breath* eggs, wheat, milk, dairy, cheese….. Don’t worry, there’s actually food that doesn’t include these things, and good food, if you look for it. Of course, if you want really good, healthy food, the BEST are ones that are made gluten, dairy, and milk-free, because they’re always made with the best (and organic) ingredients, and besides, those missing ingredients aren’t actually that good for humans. I got a bag of some kind of cookies made by the brand “New Moon Kitchens”- the package and design is reminiscent of Trader Joe’s. It actually says “Gluten-free” and “Dairy-Free”, which is amazing- I’d never thought I’d find something like this in Downtown Toronto. SUPER expensive though, but it’s a once-in-a-while treat XP It’s just really annoying with stuff I can’t eat, because what happens if only bread, sandwiches, or hotdogs are offered? I’d be screwed then. But at least my favourite thing is untouched; I’m not allergic to ANY fruits at all =) I like noodles though.. maybe I’ll have to hunt down specialty or organic or Choices or Trader Joe’s-like stores so I can buy some rice flour spaghetti or noodles to stock up. I brought a rice cooker bought from Taiwan, along on this trip, so YAY at least there’s rice. Now if I could just cook with efficiency and variety, the food situation would be perfect. Eczema sucks- a lot. *sticks tongue out*
