Blog Layout Frustrations!

Argh. I really wanna get rid of what I have as a default background/layout NOW. But I can't, because I don't quite understand how it works, despite looking up some blog layout websites where you can apparently dl them or something. But is it like a picture or something where you can just "upload" like a picture?? I'm thinking you've got to paste html coding or something with a pic attached to it somewhere here, but again it's so hard to just know what I'm doing. The thing is, I don't want to dl a background.. (layout is different, right, which includes where the "followers", "Tags" and other things are placed on the site and design). I want to actually put my own picture/background or whatever on it. Is the layout and site background separate or together as a whole? I'll feel more irritated if I see any more coloured dots! In case you didn't know, I don't like polka dots! Dot patterns, spot patterns, dotted spots.....

I'm being whiny, aren't I? I guess it's just I don't have the amount of time I think it'll take to understand and learn how to make a background and so I know it's here to stay ... grr. And also, I just went out on the metro somewhere and back for nothing at all. Wasted time. To put it plainly, I was asked for an ID at a place where that question WASN"T supposed to be asked, and I didn't have it. It would have been the stupidest thing ever if I did have it though, and showed it anyways. HA.
