Quidditch match again today, Saturday at 2pm. I wore my Quidditch shirt (which is wicked cool), and it was crazy. I went with D, and we were Beater buddies, hahahaa. Because I would never want to play Chaser; it's just too intense for me. XD
Afterwards, we (4 of us) went to the Eaton mall food court to eat an early dinner (or late lunch..), then a group of us went to the famous Jean Talon market, which I really wanted to go to since ..forever! It's like our Atwater market (so many stands of fresh fruits, veggies, spices, seafood, maple syrup etc. making up an outdoor tented market while inside there're many many specialty shops).. however, Jean Talon is the one deemed a tourist attraction, and omg, it was amazing! I loved it there. We (a group of 8, now) took the metro to the Jean Talon station (surprise, surprise) and the HUGE market was amazing. Fruit and vegetables! Fruit, fruit, fruit! It made my mouth water... I simply adore fruit, so it excited me to see so many, and the deals were phenomenal! I saw this huge section of these apples, and I asked this man if it was crunchy (I didn't know the type of apples, so I couldn't be sure if it was those naturally soft ones) and you know what? He said, "Want to try?" and picked out a slightly smaller apple for me! And then I decided to buy some. They were in little tubs/buckets (called paniers), and they were 1.50$ for a small panier (which was perhaps 4-5 apples), and 3.00$ for a bigger panier. I chose a small panier and I gave him a toonie. This man, he took out a handful of change, and after picking at it, gave an "ehh... " and picked out a dollar to give back to me! I was astounded! He was like, "It's okay" and my melted a little under his kindness. After I walked away, still holding my half-an-apple, I counted the apples in the plastic bag. Nine apples. For 1 freaking dollar. Did I walk into a Fruit Heaven? Of course, since there were so many stands, all selling similar fruits, there are ranges in prices. There were samples of fresh cut up tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches. OMG I hadn't had a peach in such a long time, and I took a slice. SO sweet! I picked out a lot. Haha, I think it came out as 7$. But I'm going to savour every one ^^ I bought some maple-syrup lollipops. And then, 2 little plastic boxes of blueberries for 3$. Hey, blueberries are really expensive there! It's one thing from home I really miss, apart from friends and family. I can't wait to taste my first blueberries since early August.
You guys have to come visit me in the summer if I manage to get a job/possibly take a French course and make use of my extended rent time. I mean, summer is THE time to be. I've had BEAUTIFUL summer weather (the heat, the sun, the shine) every single day here, with the exception of 2 cloudy/rainy days at the end of August. I'm going to take you to the Jean Talon market where we'll spazz out over fruit! <3
Home by metro, where I showered, and went up to the 3rd floor for some Thai stir-fry (I contributed by bringing up "a crap-load of rice", which is what the stir-fry cook told me hahaa.. she was on a student exchange for one year in Thailand (she's from PEI), and she understands some Thai and she knows how to cook Thai food!). Then we watched Monty Python and the Holy Grail, which is quite.. strange/funny in a wth way/random. Now I can say I've watched the movie "everyone" has seen.
Briefly, I visited a ABC party in another room on the 3rd floor. Not as scandalous as I thought. I say this, because ABC stands for "Anything But Clothes". These 2 girls I met were wearing black garbage bags, haha. There were ppl with togas too. Anyways, it was only fun if you were with friends/if you were drunk, and the air tasted a little too alcoholic so I went back to my flat (that's what we call our appartments hehe) and washed the dishes.
