First Quidditch practice today. It was awesome. I think I'll go to the next match too =P
I bought a red McGill Quidditch shirt too~ I'm totally gonna wear it when I play!
I think I'll stay away from the Chaser position; I was a Beater today, and loving it.
I was nervous at first, 'cause I'm not exactly good with that coordination thing. Especially after tripping over holes and stepping over the back of my friend's shoes (*cringes* I know I've done it to some of you, if not all of you. Apologies.) and making my chopstick a loner after dropping its soulmate down the crack between the oven and the counter. I mean, there wasn't supposed to be a crack there! And it hung suspended between the two for FOREVER and I kept getting sad because there was no way a finger could reach in, and I didn't have something long and thin enough to stick into that scary, dark crack. And then this one tall Jewish guy helped me out of my dilemma with "simple physics" as he called it. How did I go from Quidditch to chopsticks? =S
SO ANYWAYS, so many people showed up in the end that it wasn't so embarrassing. And since I avoided the Chaser position, I didn't get roughed up and my weak sports skills didn't show. (Chasers are the ones that have to grab the Quaffles and throw it through the hoops to get points, similar to basketball.) People showed up with 30cm-long scrubbers, flower-patterned broom handles, an electric broom, a swiffer........ well, what could you do? They said BYOB. Bring Your Own Broom. I borrowed my Korean/Australian/NY neighbour's broom. I think I already mentioned that =.=lll
Lol, it was hilarious though; people (obviously tourists) were taking pictures of us. Some of the older uni students on the team told us they had some media attention too, like from CBC. In case you forgot about the game, I'll perhaps post some of the team player rules later.

BTW. The picture up top? Beyond cool. I bought a team t-shirt!
Glad I found this post after googling "quidditch mcgill". I had seen the news report a while ago and wondered if the team still played. Think you could email me the game schedule? My son is a big Harry Potter fan and I thought seeing a real-life no-fly Quidditch game would be cool. Thanks! flash_spice(a)hotmaildotcom
